I am Edelina and I have been helping lawyers improve their negotiations in English and thus win new foreign clients for 21 years now.

Law was a central part of my education at the National Trade High School many years ago and later I have dug deeper when I started doing numerous legal translations. I really enjoyed the multi-jurisdictional aspects of legal documents as a linguist, and later as a language trainer I have managed to help many lawyers from all over Europe (and China) to explain local regulations clearly to their international clients. The truth is that for a client to trust an international lawyer, the latter needs to sound very professional and trustworthy when explaining or writing. No one would trust a lawyer with bad English to write their contracts or negotiate for them. Therefore, I have made it a priority to provide exactly that to my lawyer-learners: the English they need to show their clients how truly professional they are and thus win their trust.

With weekly speaking questions that you will answer via voice messages on WhatsApp you will tick off your consistent speaking training for 2-5 min a day or a week, depending on your commitment. I have seen enormous breakthroughs in spoken English with professionals who have taken on the challenge to do this 2 min/day speaking on their English perfection journey.

1on1 video coaching sessions

That is approx. once/twice or more times a week for 3 months.When you find the time we can boost your English communication skills together with this guided leaps in your better English journey. Our sessions will focus on realistic situations from your work, so that you can recycle the language that you need to handle them more elaborately going forward. Please have in mind that you will be the one who does the work, I will be there to guide you, provoke you with some discussion questions and comment on your great (and sometimes imperfect) use of language.

Proofreading short texts or emails within 24 hours

I know that you need to draft many documents and sometimes you might get stuck and want to be sure that you have expressed yourself in the clearest manner possible. Well, do not worry. I am here for you. Just sent me an email and you will receive the improved version asap (no later than 24 hours).

Questions answered within the day

Perhaps you re preparing for an important meeting or a presentation, or you want to be sure you understood your client’s email correctly (Yes, Deepl is nice for tourist English but not so great for legal terms). Feel free to text me your question and I will answer it thoroughly asap within the same day.

I know very well how urgent matters keep coming up in your line of work. Nothing to worry about. Your English 1:1 session can be rescheduled even with a 5-min notice. Just make sure you choose a new time as soon as you can, so that we can keep the momentum going.
